Are you still using one of those clunky cassette-style adapters to connect your iPod to your car stereo? If you are you need to consider getting the Griffin's iTrip FM transmitter.

The iTrip lets you transmit the music from your ipod directly to your car's FM tuner. Making it easier to connect without any of the wires. One down side is the sound quality. The sound through any portable FM transmitter is a bit less than great. The iTrip sounds good, though some interference is noticeable at times.

Unlike other transmitters of this type, the iTrip allows you to choose the broadcasting channel from a digital interface. Other units have preset stations that may or may not agree with your location. The unit works best with stations that are not broadcasting. Early Christmas Gift...

I usually don't do Christmas lists but this year the only thing I asked for was a pair of UGG slippers. Not sure why the UGGs, I really just wanted a comfortable slipper to wear around the house and didn't know of anything better.

In the middle of last week I saw that a Zappos box arrived. I knew it was my gift so I asked my wife, if I could open the box as an early Christmas present. I got the ok, and I opened the box. Lisa ordered me the UGG Ascot Shoe for Men "yay". I am using the shoes as a slipper but I've got to tell you these are the most comfortable shoes going.

They are very soft and the fleece insides keeps my feet real toasty. The wife picked them up at Zappos.

Shopping this season...

I spent most of my Saturday this past weekend shopping with my wife. I saw some changes in my holiday shopping in comparison to last year, but not really what I was expecting.

It is funny because with the current economic downturn, I was expecting to see some great sales. Unfortunately that was not really the case. I had been seeing commercial for sales on TV all week, so I was surprised not to have seen much at the stores. Don't get me wrong some items were on sale but not as much as I would have liked.

Anyway what I did see was less people and shorter lines. Though the prices were not that discounted, as retailers know holiday shoppers have no choice but to buy. It was still a great shopping experience, my wife and I managed to get all of our shopping done in a relatively short period of time.

All in all shopping for this holiday season my not be cheap...but it sure is easier.

You may have been waiting for the new Zoocaro.com release...well it's finally here. The new look and feel makes it easy to find items from merchants and/or auction sites directly.

With our new release we combined the functionality of search by keyword with a drop down menu to define what type of listings you are looking for.

Though we have some work to do we are very excited about this big step.

Hello Everybody,

I just wanted to make a quick entry here to further explain our site. The main thing I want to focus in on is how Zoocaro.com handles XML feeds.

So as you may know Zoocaro.com will except a product XML feed from a seller. The thing to note is that those items do not post directly to our main site. Those items only post to that sellers "Zoocaro seller page". From there a seller may choose to post those items to the zoocaro main page but it is not required.

Many seller have asked can all of my items just be posted to the main site?

The answer to that question is no. We do not allow sellers to upload all of their products to the Zoocaro site. We set up the site this way to give both large and small companies equal opportunity. Many smaller companies do not have the means to create XML files so we want to be able to offer them a place on the web where they can get visibility without spending a ton.

We do realize that it would take a long time to post all of your items one at a time. What we suggest is that sellers post a few items a week. This will help get more viability to your Zoocaro seller page as well as to your own site. Another thing to note is that all of the items uploaded through XML will still be indexed with Google, increase your visibility on the web.

I hope this helps better understand how the site works and that we are doing all we can to help sellers, sell and shoppers find great items online.

One last thing I wanted to throw out there is that if a seller is willing to link back to us we will give them a sponsored position on our site in the category of their choice, for a minimum of at least 3 months for Free.

New Release

Hello Everybody,

We are happy to announce that with the hard work of Dan Dan the web man we will be making our new release on Sunday the 29th. As with most new releases we expect some bugz so we would appreciate any feed back.

The new website will have a revised look and feel with a focus on a search tool bar for better navigation. As well as a more robust search by category.

On the back end we will continue to do all we can to make it as easy as possible for advertisers to up-load their items. Currently we only accept CSV file but soon we will also be able to up-load XML files. With that said we are giving advertisers more control over modifying and re-posting their listings.

In regards to getting more traffic to Zoocaro.com, through partnerships we plan on getting your listings active on other search engines. One engine that we have been approved for is Oodle. By posting with Zoocaro.com all of your items will also appear on Oodle.com and many more partners as they become available.

We wanted to take a minute to introduce our new Webmaster / Designer. Last week we were fortunate enough to make the acquaintance of Daniel Dulgerian. Daniel comes with many years of experience in website maintenance and development. Daniel in just the last week has made many internal programing changes including a change to our hosting company.

We are excited to have Daniels experience as a resource and with it we know that our service will only get better. As you may know we are continually working to improve our website for our users and our advertisers. While in Beta mode, we plan to improve most on our Search functionality for our users and increasing traffic to our site for our advertisers. Having Daniel on our team will allow us to roll out these changes faster and with better results.

Unfortunately on our first launch of the CSV mass uploads we forgot to add a PicURL cell - well I’m glad to inform everyone that it’s now up and working just fine.

We would appreciate all postings link directly to the product being promoted. This will increase your overall repeat traffic because shoppers are impatient and don’t like to search twice. Also, product images will increase item hits dramatically

WOW the Changes...

We have just finished an amazing change here at Zoocaro.com and are excited to tell you about it. This change will help sellers get shoppers to view more items without having to post each item individually.

Just released we now have seller pages for each and every seller. Once you create an account with Zoocaro.com a seller page is automatically created with your company information. This page is dedicated just for you as a seller. Similar to a "Myspace" or "Facebook" page. All of the items you post will show up on that page. As a feature to our seller pages, sellers will be able to bulk up-load items by CSV file to that page.

Though we do not offer a search on our home page for "Sellers Pages", shoppers can reach your seller page by clicking "Click here for more information" on the bottom of each post. The more you post the better chance you have of getting shoppers to your seller page.

The only other way to get shoppers to your seller page is by becoming a "Featured Advertiser". Though we do plan on charging for this feature in the future, we will be offering this for free as long as you add a link to our website. You can find the code you need to link back to us under the "Link to us" tab on the bottom of our homepage.

Test out our Featured advertiser links by clicking any of the featured advertisers on the right hand side of our homepage. You will see that each ad will drive you to that sellers page.

Well that is for now...we will update you with more as soon as it is available.

Recent changes to Zoocaro.com...

Here at Zoocaro.com we are always trying to improve our site so we will often be announcing new changes and improvements. Today we would like to announce some of the changes we have made and some of the changes that will be released soon.

The first thing you will notice is a "Link to us" tab. Here you will be able to copy our HTML code, and paste it on a page on your site, this will create a link back to our website. These links like our link back to your website helps with Google PageRank. By helping us increase our PageRank you help yourself get free traffic from search engines through your postings with us. So link back to us and post often this way we can all can get more traffic and the best results.

Next is a Bookmark us tab...this tab is pretty simple. Click on the link to have your browser Bookmark our website as one of your favorite sites. Many people uses their favorite to help navigate the web quicker and to remember websites they like.

The final change that has already be made, has to do with our search functionality. When you click on a category in the middle of our home page you will get the results for that category. Above the results you will see two tabs "Select Subcategory" and "Select Location". These tabs will help shoppers navigate our site to help find exactly what they are looking for after clicking on a category.

A new feature that will soon be released and will be very exciting for all website owners is our "Custom seller pages". These pages will be seller branded and will allow for a CSV, XML, or RSS feed upload of all your items. The pages will also allow for seller and shopper to leave feedback as well as a comments.

How can you use Zoocaro.com to promote your website you ask? Well it very easy...and here are some best practices for your business.

First of all anybody with a website can use Zoocaro.com to drive traffic to their website.

In the future we see a wide array of websites posting to Zoocaro.com... some will include...

Shopping e-commerce websites, Realtor websites, Work at home Websites, Automotive websites, service websites (roofers, contractors, etc), Employment websites, and even personal websites.

Our goal in creating Zoocaro.com was to help get traffic directly to websites. As a business owner it is very important to build your brand and the only way to do that online is by getting people to visit your website. Traditionally the only way to get additional traffic aside from Organic clicks was through Cost per Click campaigns. Though they are very effective, they are never a cheap source of traffic.

Well today Zoocaro.com is a solution...post you items for free and you are guaranteed traffic to your website. The only thing that it cost you is your time. We do ask that you do not create general ads for everything on your website. We need to be able to offer shoppers a good experience so you must post items individually. If you have a website with only one offering, like a personal website then we have no problem with you directly the traffic directly to your home page. Submissions that are created in the wrong manor will not be accepted. If you have questions please contact us.

The two most common questions we get asked are how often should I post and how muchshould I post?

We think it is best to post as much as you can, as often as you can. We do understand that some companies will have thousands of items, so for those sites we suggest posting 20-30 items a week. Even though you don't post all of your items you will still get traffic and when shoppers are on your site they will still be able to shop around.

Also keep in mind that most of our traffic is directed to our home page and all of the new items posted, first start on our home page. So posting often to stay on our home page is a good strategy.

Here is a to-do list for generating free traffic to your website.

1. You must first and foremost optimize your website for search eingines the infamous "SEO".

Here content is king always keep as much new and fresh content on your site as possible. Aside from that get as many links back to your site as possible. Link exchanges do take time but as we all know it is well worth it.

Fast and easy ways to get links are through directories, and other sites where you can post and get a link back like http://www.zoocaro.com .

2. Social networking is a buzz that is starting to get a lot of attention. I spoke to a client today and he mentioned his techniques on social networking which I think can help any site owner. What he said was that he hired a few college students with multiple Facebook and Myspace accounts. The students within their account will post links to his site telling their friends to visit it. He claims that this is actually the number one source of traffic to his site today. By the way this is something you can do on your own if you can get the friends but would be faster and easier with help from students.

Well here are a few suggestions that should get you started in the right direction.

1. Make sure that your website has new content that is updated as much as possible.

2. Create as many relevant links to your site as possible.

3. Use cost effective ways to getting you website name out like press releases.

4. Go viral, email and contact the people you want to visit your site and /or add content.

5. The key to all of this is time...most of your efforts will not help your traffic for about 6 months. If you continue to work on it and do enough of the right things you can't fail.
